Our story

In 2006 we noticed a gap in the Finnish wine market. We started planning and dreamed of a company that should be brand oriented, structurally organized and focused on consumer satisfaction and marketing innovation. Then we took our 50 years of collective experience on the industry and formed Winestate.

In short period of time, we have become the largest company purely focusing on wine and a leading importer in the Finnish market. With a turnover of €34 million, our privately held, employee-owned company has proven success in:

Alko (Retail monopoly w/approx. 80 % of volume) – Winestate is a leading supplier, recognized for its quality portfolio of wines.

Duty Free (Airports & ferries w/approx. 10 % of volume) – Winestate is one of the biggest travel retail suppliers, providing significant share of wines available on different ferry operators in the Baltic region.

HoReCa (approx. 10% of volume) – Winestate supplies to the largest restaurant chains and most prestigious private establishments in Finland. We are also the main wine partner for Sinebrychoff (Carlsberg group), the leading manufacturer of beers, ciders, soft drinks and energy drinks in Finland.
